Annual Feast of the Institution

On 22th June the annual feast of this institution began with a grace filled spiritual blessings. In this feast neighbourhood parishioners witnessed the feast and payed homage to our Mother, Mary Help of Christians. It began with the cart procession organized by the Salesian co-operators and rosary service in order to pay homage to our Mary help of Christians. The colourful event was followed by the solemn Eucharsitic celebration celebrated by Arch Bishop Emeritus Most. Rev. Chinnappa SDB. Finally, with the blessing of the holy oil, the parishioners and the school students departed to spread the fragrance of love to the whole society.

Sports Day

Edifying and Artistic 54th Sports day celebrations began on June morning around 9.30 am. Mr.James Kennedy, who was the past pupil of our school presided over the celebration. New imaginative and inventive ways of exercises and other events were organized during these celebrations. To add melodic colour to the Eucharist the entire school participated in the singing. It was a colourful day and indeed it enthused the students to build in them a true sportsmanship. The participants were awarded with various gifts, prizes, medals and certificates. Hearty congratulations to the Head Master, PT Masters, Salesians and Staff and the core team behind it.

Inauguration of the Academic Year

  • Well began is half done. On 1st of June the inauguration of the academic year began with the event of blessing.
  • It began with the prayer service led by Free. Bosco who invoked the blessings of our Lord.

Rally on Clean and Green Environment

  • To install in all a better appreciation and to instill in them a need for the conservation of green environment, a rally on clean and green environment was conducted by the eco-club members of our school.
  • It created a greater awareness to the students to fight back on climatic changes, global warming, acid rain and the like.

    • English and Tamil Literary Association and Groups and Movements

  • In order to spread the importance of Tamil and English languages, every year English and Tamil literary association is held in our school.
  • This year on of June it began with the blessings of our Lord.
  • On behalf of English and Tamil literary association Fr. Jomix, the Director of Saleth Madha Shrine and called respectively.
  • During the meeting English and Tamil cultural dances, skits and speeches were performed and delivered by students.
  • Finally the chief guests gave their own views with regard to learning English and Tamil and their applications in practical life.
  • In the afternoon inauguration of the groups and movements were organized and executed by the staff and students was the chief guest of this function.
  • He expounded the need for groups and movements and usefulness of it.
  • During this programme 13 groups were inaugurated with their respective mottos, guides, and members.

    • First PTA General Body Meeting

  • The first PTA General Body meeting held on in which all the member were present.
  • This meeting was marked by honouring the staff for producing 100% of result by the PTA council members.
  • Prizes were also distributed to the students who got first, second and third in 10th and 12th. We congratulate and appreciate their generous heart.

Marian Month

  • To create a Marian ambient in our institution, the Marian month was inaugurated by Fr.
  • Rector on 16th of July with a prayer service.
  • This quenched the spiritual thirst for Mary in the life of the boys and the Salesians.
  • Marian tournaments and competitions were also organized in order to express one’s love for Mary.
  • In particular singing, poem writing, essay writing, dance, Marian Nite and other cultural competitions were organized in order to express one’s love for Mary.
  • On the whole the entire month revolved around Blessed Mother Mary.

Savio Feast

  • As we have an institution, the savio hostel named after st. dominic savio the feast of the saint was celebrated in a solemn manner on 6th July. Fr.
  • Francis the rector of Don Bosco V-Pet, was the main celebrant for the solemn mass.
  • And in the evening we had cultural events in honour of the saint in the Savio hostel premises, and followed by a sumptuous dinner.
